Fermi surface of the one-dimensional Kondo-lattice model.

چکیده
We show a strong indication of the existence of a large Fermi surface in the one-dimensional Kondo lattice model. The characteristic wave vector of the model is found to be k F = (1 + ρ)π/2, ρ being the density of the conduction electrons. This result is at first obtained for a variant of the model that includes an antiferromagnetic Heisenberg interaction J H between the local moments. It is then directly observed in the conventional Kondo lattice (J H = 0), in the narrow range of Kondo couplings where the long distance properties of the model are numerically accessible.

Small Fermi surface in the one-dimensional Kondo lattice model
We study the one-dimensional Kondo lattice model through the density-matrix renormalization group. Our results for the spin-correlation function indicate the presence of a small Fermi surface in large portions of the phase diagram, in contrast to some previous studies that used the same technique. We argue that the discrepancy is due to the open boundary conditions, which introduce strong charg...
متن کاملBosonization approach to the one-dimensional Kondo lattice model
The one-dimensional Kondo lattice model is investigated by using bosonization techniques and conformal field theory. In the half-filled band, the charge and spin gaps open for the anti-ferromagnetic Kondo coupling. Away from half-filling, the paramagnetic metallic state is characterized by the fixed point of TomonagaLuttinger liquid with the large Fermi surface in accordance with known results....
متن کاملFermi surface and antiferromagnetism in the Kondo lattice: an asymptotically exact solution in d>1 dimensions.
Interest in the heavy fermion metals has motivated us to examine the quantum phases and their Fermi surfaces within the Kondo lattice model. We demonstrate that the model is soluble asymptotically exactly in any dimension d>1, when the Kondo coupling is small compared with the RKKY interaction and in the presence of antiferromagnetic ordering. We show that the Kondo coupling is exactly marginal...
متن کاملTight- binding study of electronic band structure of anisotropic honeycomb lattice
The two-dimensional structure of graphene, consisting of an isotropic hexagonal lattice of carbon atoms, shows fascinating electronic properties, such as a gapless energy band and Dirac fermion behavior of electrons at fermi surface. Anisotropy can be induced in this structure by electrochemical pressure. In this article, by using tight-binding method, we review anisotropy effects in the elect...
متن کاملEvolution of a large Fermi surface in the Kondo lattice.
The single-particle spectrum of the Kondo lattice model is derived with the use of the continuous-time quantum Monte Carlo method, combined with the dynamical mean-field theory. Crossover behavior is traced quantitatively either to a heavy Fermi-liquid state or to a magnetically ordered state from the local-moment state at high temperatures. The momentum distribution in the low-temperature limi...
